I just bought the Canon Rebel XT Body Only. So now, I'm looking for a good zoom lens to use. Any recommendations?

This is a very broad question. Read my lens buying guide (in my signature) and then come back with some ideas.

Rex makes a good point that I will elaberate on.

with a D/SLR you generally buy a lens that is suited for the type of photos you plan to capture. so it would be benificial if we new what you wanted to do with the lens.

Also you can find decent quality zoom lenses in a price range from $260 to $3800 so you might also want to add your price range to the question.

If you are looking for a good quality 10X style zoom than you could try the sigma or tamron 18-200mm lens for around $500

Or if you want to spend a little less you can get the sigma 18-125 for around $260. If you search this forum you will find many posts that praise this lens.

Another few lenses that are popular for general zoom use are the sigma 24-70 ex dg macro, and the tamron 28-75 ti xr macro. both of these lenses have decent followings and can be stopped up to F/2.8 for decent indoor shooting without a flash.
