I'm still looking for a camera and came across the A-400. It got a great review on Steve's Digicam website and seems to be a nice low-end camera with 2x zoom (as opposed to the A-300/310 without zoom).

Does anyone here know about or have this camera? Getting my first digital camera is a little overwhelming :o

It takes nice pictures, it's fairly small, and it's easy to use, but the lens starts at 40mm and that's a turn-off for me (who likes wide-angle shots). Everything is so... zoomed in!

Don't forget that I've already posted a photo gallery (http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/canon/powershot_a400-review/gallery.shtml) for this camera. The review is forthcoming.

Thanks for the reply, that's certainly something to consider. Since the camera is so new I'm going to wait until some more reviews come out for it. The pictures look really nice though and it may be the best quality I can get for what I can afford.
