Image Stablization C-770 vs C-2100

I've been a happy owner of a C-2100 for almost 4 years. I'm now looking at upgrading to a C-770.

One feature I had on the C-2100 that doesn't appear to be on the C-770 was image stabilization. That seems to have helped greatly for telephoto shots and lower light level shots.

Can anyone provide information on how well the C-770 (or C-765) does with full optical magnification at both outdoor and indoor light levels?

Also, any idea why Olympus dropped the image stabilization between the two models?
