Ok so I got my lens and I officially took my 1st SLR photos today. Now granted i am not a professional (nor do I desire to be) I think they came out good. I have a lot to learn about lights and shadows, But I bought the DSLR for one reason and one reason only. My regular 5.35 MP point and shoot camera wasn't cutting it. It had a really long waiting/warm up period and from pushing the button to taking the picture took forever. I lost all those little perfect moments with my son "waiting" for my camera to take the dang picture. So for me this is one great camera.

I bought a canon digital rebel. I only have one lens at the moment, a Sigma 70-300mm 4-5.6 APO Super II Macro Lens. I am still looking for a mid/low range lens. and am thinking of the Tamron 28-80. I love photos and scrapbooking, and i was just tired of all the missed photos with my old camera. When you try for 5 years to have a baby, it just gives you a huge passion for them. We probably are not going to have another one so I want every little thing he does captured.

I Agree Blue! I am currently researching that lens and thinking about it constantly as I plan on adding a second lens to my arsenal, I currently am using the 350D and a Canon 50mm 1.8 lens. I am glad to see the great quality pics of your son using that Sigma... I agree, if you have a young one at home... there is no substitute for virtually no shutter lag and quick power on time... I was thoroughly impressed after getting my 350 not too long ago and snapping pictures of my little niece 3years old, compared to my old P and S I missed a lot, just like you said. Plus you will notice the ability to capture those candid life shots of family and friends is now at your finger tips! I love it ! keep shooting and keep sharing! I am also in the mood to see more Sigma 70-300mm 4-5.6 APO Super II Macro Lens pictures! Thanks for sharing!
