Apologies if this has been posted before, I looked around and couldn't spot an Aircraft thread.

A couple I've taken.

Here is a photo taken at the Evergreen International Air Museum in Mc Minnville, OR showing Howard Hughes' famous flying boat, which a lot of times is incorrectly called the "spruce goose." It is actually made out of laminated birch.

This is a bit of an unusual one, taken during gear swings!

 Love it!

One of my favorite things to take pictures of is airplanes! I shot the balloon rally (have thread in here) but can't wait for the next airshow!

Speaking of which, there is an airshow in Winston Salem, NC on September 9th, 10th and 11th. Contact me if you need more information. I know I'll be there!

Quick question, I was at a picnic across the river from National Airport in Washingon, DC, and took a few pictures of planes taking off. However, one person suggested that it might be a bad idea or even illegal. If it's not, then I have one shot that I thought came out really well that I'd post. If it is, then I'll just scrub 'em.

I wasn't sure where to ask. Since you are posting plane pictures, this seems to be the best place!

Unless you were shooting in a restricted area I don't see a single reason that it would be illegal. I shoot airports all over the place, and have never had a problem. Just because it's DC makes it no different than any other airport.

PS the person advising you was incorrect (and a tad paranoid).

To go along with Joker, here is a Blue Angel inverted.

Okay, here's the shot from National Airport. I was across the river using maximum (optical) zoom from my new S2. I like how clearly I can see the exhaust (I assume) coming out.

My first time trying to post with a picture, so hope it works...

Nice shot. If you see a white van pull up in front of your house...

...only kidding.

Again, I take airport shots all the time. I'll try and find them one of these days.

Can't seem to figure out how to make the picture turn up. I'll keep trying. Works on dpreview... anyone use iciclelanding.com?

Anyway... no white vans yet. ;-)

Was this picture taken recently? I thought the Ben Gurian airport was completely renovated so you don't have to walk up/down the steps to the plane anymore. I'll be going there sometime next month with a 2 month old and a 2 year old, the less steps the better.

It was taken late august last year. I know they got the new terminal, but I have no clue how it works. My grandparents are coming in on July 2nd so I can tell ya for sure then. Regardless, I found this way of loading a plane rather enjoyable, but from a purely aerospace enthusiast viewpoint.

it's an ultra-light mated to an inflatable rubber boat (or the other way around :) )

Here is a picture of an Airshow Plane taken yesterday at the Airshow. I showed up for the military planes; unfortunately, they didn't show up... Just these little stunt planes...

Here is a picture of the night Airshow later on... the plane would fly by emitting sparks and dropping a few small displays... I though this was an interesting capture of one of his fly buys, showers of sparks + on board lighting made it interesting IMO.

Here's one I took yesterday evening over the lake where I live. There was a huge fire of some sort and the jet overflew it, turned around, and flew back over the fire. I'm not sure what type of jet it is...maybe a forest service jet of some sort? Anyway, I thought the setting sun's reflection made it look kind of cool.
