I'm a fifteen year old, and I have owned the Kodak EasyShare DX7440 digital camera for almost two months.
I think it's an excellent camera, and I'm very satisfied with it.
You guys are all welcome to read my reviews about this camera in BizRate (http://www.bizrate.com/marketplace/product_info/review_detail__cat_id--402,prod_id--11660857,review_id--36001.html) and Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/cdp/member-reviews/A1HC9J9IQ8MKYT/ref=cm_cr_auth/102-3316361-9238557).

As I am very interested in digital photography, I have been playing with the camera, kind of learn to know it and how it works, and also have been reading a lot about digital cameras and about photography. I want to grow with my camera and learn more in order to acheive better results while developing my skills.
I've been trying to learn to use the camera's PASM modes, specially with the Aperture Priority mode. I like the effect that the picture centers on the subject and the rest is blurry. I've been trying to do that working with A mode. I've read that the larger the aperture (=the smaller the /f number), the shallower the depth of field. Therefore I've tried to set a small /f number, but it hasn't worked as well as I expected.
Another camera my family owns is Minolta's DiMage 7i. What a terrific camrea. It has such a great autofocus, and it does the effect I like all by itself. I'll post an example picture.

Is this something I can do with the DX7440? Can anyone who owns the DX7440 give me some tips and links of how I can enrich my knowledge and improve the results?
My main goals are taking pictures of kids, but I've widened my horizons and now am also interested in taking landscape pictures and pictures of plants/flowers (by the way, working with the macro mode I've been able to acheive the result I wanted).
