Those of you who have been watching the market for some time - what can we expect to see as far as incentives to purchase when the D50 comes out in June? Will there be rebates/coupons right away? Will the price drop significantly in November for pre-Christmas sales?

When and where do you recommend a purchase of a new model like that?

It will start retailing (body only) for $700-$750 and in the kit form for around $900. Manufacturers rarely offer rebates on brand new items, especially ones that will sell well.

Their kit retail price was announced as $899. I don't expect to see any any rebates or price reductions in the near future. I mean the D50 hasnt even been released yet! I will eventually get a D50 or D70 or DSomeNumber. :D

Since your signature eludes to having an XT, why are you planning to buy an Nikon Dxx series?

Just curious.

I have a lot of Nikon lenses, speedlights and other paraphernalia. The XT was a temporary buy since my Nikon got swallowed by the waves of the Indian Ocean. Or perhaps the answer you were looking for, I prefer Nikons to Canons.
