I like your concept "reflection". :)
Nice but difficult to take pic you made there.
I would have loved to see some details in the sky (the same you've got on the water)... But difficult without darkening these trees too much.

Here's one really less "country side" ;)
Hope it can find its place here....

The building picture has a neat effect.

The first had horrible lighting. Best I could do with it. Here is another with better lighting.

This was taken the day after our prime minister Anna Lindh had been murdered at this department store. There were thousands of people there all grieving, laying red roses in front of the store. Some of the people is reflected in this window. I like the sky to the left of Anna, tells me she's ok now.

Didn't quite know where to post this so went for reflection thread. I gave my 13 yr old son my camera for a few minutes whilst I finished my breakfast when we were on holiday in Yosemite recently. He came back with this actually shot in colour. Any guesses is it road or river?

Cloud Gate on the SBC Plaza
Cloud Gate is British artist Anish Kapoor's first public outdoor work installed in the United States. The 110-ton elliptical sculpture is forged of a seamless series of highly polished stainless steel plates, which reflect the city's famous skyline and the clouds above. A 12-foot-high arch provides a "gate" to the concave chamber beneath the sculpture, inviting visitors to touch its mirror-like surface and see their image reflected back from a variety of perspectives.

Inspired by liquid mercury, the sculpture is among the largest of its kind in the world, measuring 66-feet long by 33-feet high. Cloud Gate sits upon the SBC Plaza, which was made possible by a gift from the SBC Corporation.

here are a few quick shots from the "cloud". for a little bit of "where's waldo", can you find me taking the pictures?

What an impressive structure & very well thought out & executed images. Well captured.
At a quieter pace my only reflection shot to date is attached. It was also one of my first shots with this camera. A lonely canal boat shot into the sun at long range (57mm ~x9.5 zoom) with the FZ20. This was early morning and at f2.8 to get a 1/125 shutter speed to cope with hand holding. Any suggestions for improvement very welcome.

Nice one, Meillana! Miami is one of those cities that looks better at night than in the daytime.

Here is one in a similar vein that I took this weekend in Jacksonville. It is from the balcony of the Hilton. Does anybody have any Hyatt balcony shots?

Also here is a link to a thread with 3 more shots from our weekend trip to the Atlantic coast. At least a couple are reflection shots.

Thanks. I am trying the upload again to see if I can fix it. I want to know what I'm doing wrong. I used Microsoft Digital Image Suite 10 to save it in a smaller jpg file before. This time, I went back to Picture It and saved it as 1/2 page web ready. If this doesn't work, I'm at a loss.... Plus, when I preview, it doesn't let me see the picture, so I guess I have to post it first.

Also, even though the polarizer robs me of a couple of stops, I still underexpose by at least a third of a stop (usually more) to get deeply saturated colors...

Two different types of reflection are present in this picture. First of all, there's the reflection of the clouds on the car. Secondly, the picture in itself is a reflection as it has been shot through one of the mirrors of the car.

Thanks for your nice comments, Paul. I must say, though, that the illusion is the result of a bit of luck. When I took this picture, I was merely interested in taking a photograph of the car driving behind because there were some family members in that one.

That is so cool! Well done! Aside from the obviously unique and interesting color editing, the exposure is near-perfect and I love the way the picture is composed, it feels so balanced. Very nice.
