Hey guys, I really like my Canon A510 however its advised using 2300 mAh NiNH batteries. Would anyone have any suggestions other than the canon for approx. $44 includung batteries? thanks p.

You can also get chargers and spare batteries (energizer, Duracell, etc.) from Wal-Mart.

fast or gentle charge; other than speed any advantages or disadvantages?

I have a charger from Maha (401) - they recommend slow charge as the best way to charge the batteries to avoid potential overheating of the batteries, which could shorten battery life. That said, many folks will report they use fast chargers with no problems at all. Generally I allow enough time to use the slow charge function.

Yeah fast chargers, usually shorten life of batteries.
As you may have mostly time to charge, you should better use a gentle charger.
