Canon D200. Mom bought me one 10 days ago, sisters bought one today same model and just gave it to mom right now for Moms day. We are going to refund the one we have had for 10 days and get our $ back, since there is no point having 2 cameras since mom wont be using it, but get to me take the pics. Plus we cant afford having 2 cams with one just lying around unused. What do you think? But the thing is, if I use the cam mom got today too much (and my sisters see it) they will start complaining. Hence, it was bought for mom and I should get my own cam if I wanna use it alot on my own time, other than taking pics of our niece (why sisters bought mom the cam). Even if they see me have the cam outside of the house, they will get mad. When it should be sitting in moms room. Am I being too selfish herE wanting my own cam though we cant afford it right now? I think I am.

i dont think youre being selfish.
everybody deserves to treat themselves to something once in a while, plus if youre going to put it to good use, youll be getting your moneys worth from it. if you were going to buy it and have it laying around looking pretty and not actually using it, then itd be a different matter. :]

Tell them that you are using it to practice with so you can teach your mom how to use it.

Haven't you already started two threads on this problem? I think it would be easier to follow the story if you kept all the information in a single thread.

Sorry kids, but the cam was my sisters sd200 LOL, but what confuses me was why she brought in the box, the bag, charger etc. Made me think they bought one for mom. They gave mom $. So ya, they still cant know we have a cam...yet, later ill tell them.

Sounds like this is a family problem, not a camera problem. Might you perhaps get better results posting this on a personal advice forum?
