Hi!

As my screen name suggests, I am quite new to digital cameras and would appreciate any help with my question. I am wondering what digital cameras (brands, models, etc) will allow the user to edit the photo on the camera itself. I know quite a few allow image resizing, but all of the information I can find on resizing says it just allows the user to switch between resolutions. I am looking to take an image already saved to the memory card, crop it, and then SAVE IT AS A NEW FILE. I know that pretty much any camera allows the user to zoom in on the photo after it has been taken, but I am having trouble finding a camera that will then save that "zoomed in" (or cropped) image as a new file. I don't have regular access to a computer and need to be able to crop the photo right on the camera.

Thank you for any help!

David

the fuji f10 and the casio z750 can both trim pics right on the camera while the canon sd500 does not have that option

DavidYou can do it on the Panasonic Lumix cameras, all of them to my knowledge. You simply zoom in on the saved image, move the arrows to get the composition you want, and then "trim" or "crop" the image. It also gives you the option of saving the cropped image as a new image, so that you can save the original as well. I believe that the cropped image will contain correspondingly fewer pixels than the original image too, depending on how much cropping you're doing.
