Removing a shadow

Hello

Is there any way to remove a shadow? I have a nice pic of a person but when I took it, I had the sun in my back and my shadow is seen on the persons cheek, and below. Is it possible to remove it but not ruining the picture?

Yes it is possible, adjusting the levels, curves, and some dodging . Post a fullsize pic and I will be happy to give it a shot.
Depending on the camera and ISO taken, there is a limit to what detail can be recovered.
