So...I've been in the market for a portable digital camera. I have a budget of about $350, not really too much. I really need a small camera, one that can fit in my pocket. I'd really want a camera with about 5 megapixals, zoom around 3x, and image quality, maybe around a 7. I'm going to be using this camera for family outings, going out with friends, just a camera which I can just pop out and take a picture.

I've been thinking about the Sony DSC-T1. It's size, shape, and look I love. I also have a Sony DSC-F717 camera, so I don't need any memory cards right now. The problem with the F717 is that it is way too bulky to take random pictures with. Also with the Sony DSC-T1, I found it on ebay(which is probably where I'm going to buy the camera since I'm on a small budget.) for around $300. I've been questioning it's durability though, since it is so small, and looks very fragile.

I need this camera by somewhere around mid-May. Thanks.

I think it would be a good choice. But I think I would take a close look at the Canon S-60 It is a great camera. I have a friend that has one and he loves it. You can check it out at this sight for more info.

Are Canon cameras compatible with Sony memory cards?

Nope, Memorysticks are Sony only memory cards.
So if you need to kepp on using memorystick, you'd rather stay with sony digital camera...

No, but San disks (compact flash) are so cheap you could get one on ebay for a good price.

Well, I really don't want to go through with the hassle of different memory cards so I guess the Canon is out the window.

Are there any known problems with the Sony camera?

Not that I know of but it just seems to be a bit limited. Read the review at this web sight or the other good place is at.
