After a lot of looking and reading reviews, I think this camera has what I'm looking for. Before making the big purchase I was just curious what you had to say about it, Good and Bad. Anyone who has it can you tell me how good the photo quality is? I read a few reviews that say it has red eye issues, but with Photo editing that can be corrected. Also was noted the photo quality may be a bit noisey? I guess my main concern is that the photo quality looks Great, Fast start up, as little as possible shutter lag, and lag between shots. I had posted in an earlier post the qualities I wanted in a camera, and if possible in an Olympus camera because I get a discount with those, and thats how I narrowed my list to the 5060.
Will possible be buying this weekend. Thanks in advance, Kay

I've got the C-5060 and I've been very pleased with it. As far as I'm concerned the picture quality is excellent. The pictures aren't noiseless, but for me the noise isn't a problem. For pictures where the camera has plenty of light (outdoors, indoors with flash) noise is invisible, or almost so. Even under other circumstances it's really not a problem. Once I mistakenly took a batch of shots with the ISO cranked all the way up (400). I instantly noticed the noise when I opened them, but it wasn't as bad as I would have thought. Once I reduced the pictures to send via email (all they were meant for anyway) the noise disappeared.

I haven't taken any pictures that would have resulted in redeye, so I can't comment on that. Shutter lag hasn't been a problem for me either. As with the noise issue, it's noticeable, but barely--as long as you half-press the shutter to lock focus and aperture.

Things I like:

Remote control (why doesn't every camera have one?)
Pivoting LCD
Control setup - It's very easy to access many different functions without diving into the menu system every time

If you want to read a very comprehensive (and personal) review of this camera, check out this page. (http://www.wrotniak.com/photo/c5050/c5060-rev.html) The author covers EVERY aspect of the camera. It's certainly written from his own perspective, with no attempt to make it a general-audience review, but you should be able to get a pretty good idea of how the camera performs.

Many people like the Olympus 5060 a lot and it is a fine digital camera. No camera is perfect and the 5060 does take some adjustments to get things as you desire. The only compalint I have heard is simply that it is a larger digital camera than a lot of folks expected.
