Here's my situation....I'm trying to decide between 3 cameras..

1) Canon EOS 10D
2) Canon EOS 20D
3) Nikon D70

I shoot local sports photography, but I'm pretty much a beginner. My partner has the D70, but here is why I'm considering the Canon. I've already got several Canon EF lenses that will fit either the 10D or 20D. The guy at my local camera shop told me since I'm not really doing anything professional with this - we sell pics, but the D70 works great for that - that he didn't think it was worth it for me to pay so much for the 20D. He said the 10D would be just fine for me. So here's what I've found:

D70 - $879.00 - D70 Premium Package (http://www.expresscameras.com/prodetails.asp?prodid=102274&start=1)
10D - $899.00 - 10D Starter PAckage (http://www.expresscameras.com/prodetails.asp?prodid=198765&start=1)
20D - $999.00 - 20D Body Only (http://www.expresscameras.com/prodetails.asp?prodid=192940&start=1)

Thanks everyone in advance!

Thanks everyone in advance! It seems to me that the fact that you get a "kit lens" with the 10D starter package shouldn't sway you much, since for most of your sports photos, you'll probably be using one of your other lenses anyway. So you're left with $100 price difference, paying a premium for a smaller, lighter, more modern 20D, whose features you'll likely appreciate over time, and be glad you spent the extra $100.

My biggest advice, check resellerrating.com, do some research on expresscameras.com... I have read a few things that would indicate more research is required before purchase.

Thanks and keep the feedback coming! A friend of mine got a D70 from there. He had a good experience. Basically you don't get any support aft er the purchase...

I also agree with what John Reed has stated.
