Hello,

I would like to buy a digital camera for my 13 year old niece and I can't decide
which one of these 3 cameras would be the best choice (or deal):
Kodak LS753 $199.00 at Circuit City
Nikon coolpix 5600 and an Epson R200 printer for $314 - a $100 rebate
Nikon coolpix 5900 and an Epson R200 printer for $349 - a $100 rebate

Thanks in advance!

Javier

Printing pics at home is an expensive proposition, and gets even more expensive when the printer breaks down. Because it is so easy - and much cheaper - to have your prints made at a local Wal-mart or similar (just email the pics to the store, and pick them up at your convenience), I just feel that you will condemn your niece to spending more money than she needs to if you buy her a printer. Of course, if she lives in a remote location, then it might be worth the effort, but a mail-order print service would still be a better option.

IMO, putting your money into a camera, extra rechargeable batteries, case, and larger memory card, and perhaps a digital photography book would make better sense than putting money in a printer.

I agree with PhilR. I would spend the money on a camera and take them to get developed some place If you have a costco near by they are the cheapest place to do it. I was all ready to print out my own pic. on my printer and spent alot of money. Well it is cheaper for me to go to costco at 19 cents a pic. than I can print them at home.
