Like many others, we are making our first buy of a digital camera.
Requirements:
5 M Pixel
Long battery life
Easy to use for beginners
Good for more experienced photographers
No red-eye
After reading many reviews, I came up with the Canon A95, which seems a firm favorite.
Just before buying, a friend bought the Sony W7, which is more than I need, but I checked out the W5 as well. It is slightly more expensive, but the advantages I see are
- bigger LCD screen
- lighter (2 instead of 4 batteries)
- USB2
nothing terribly drastic, but nice. Unfortunately there are no detailed reviews, and even though these are cheaper cameras, they are still expensive. This is to be a camera that will be with us for many year.
Looking forward for your input.
