Sony T33 - White marks appearing on pics!!!! Help.

I have noticed marks appearing on my pics when shooting indoors, using the flash. The marks are either round or diamond shaped and look white in colour. Having spoken to a friend he said that it could be the flash reflecting off dust in the air? having taken the camera to a party recently I'm worried that liquid might have been spilt on the lens! My questions are therefore...

1. Are white shapes appareing on flash pics common and is the dust theory correct?

2. Can I clean the Carl Zeiss lens and if so what product should I use.

We need to see pictures. I can't seem to envision what you are describing.

I don't think you can even damage the lens. All the lens elements are internal on this camera.

Dust theory is correct as far as I can tell.
