I need a camera for indoor, low-light situations and can not use a flash. how do you think the DSC-P150 holds up?? I have read that the design of the camera can cause a bit more shaking, which makes the low light situations even worse for picture clarity. Any truth to that?

thanks for your input, bflaroo

All compact point and shoot digicams with AF illumination are pretty much crappy in low light. ISO performance is usually pretty bad, so shutter speeds have to be low. Using the 1/focal length rule and using a tripod sure can yield some great pics though. Image stabilization will of coarse help too. ;)

I have this camera btw and against my 350D at the same settings, it is pretty funny. Then I bump the ISO up to 1600 and get cleaner images than my P150 at ISO200 and get very fast shutter speeds to boot!

thanks for the feedback. I photograph births from the insiderīs perspective (Iīm a midwife) so getting a tripod is not the feel I want. That is why I am leaning towards the Panasonic FX7 w IS. But, there is no gaining up on the lenz. I just wish they made the P150 with IS....
