After every photo I get a "system error II". Is it me or the camera?

In the manual it should list this system error. If we know what it is then maybe we can help. If not, ask Nikon Tech.

That is part of the problem. The manual does not define the problem. Only says it's an "internal circuirty" problem

It's quite a common problem of 8800. Contact Nikon Service Center for repairing.
