i have a few questions regarding polarizers. it is my understanding that linear polarizers are sufficient for the fz20. is this right? secondly, how important is multi coating on polarizers? third question is with regard to different brands. i live in canada and the only brands of polarizers they have are henry's generic polarizers both linear and circular (optex), tiffen and hoya. these obviously have very different prices. any major differences?
thanks!

A linear polarizer is at least as good on the FZ20 as a circular polarizer.
But to get a multi coated polarizer to the best of my knowledge it mast be circular and they are expensive.
The Hoya purple label linear polarizer is coated on both sides but not multicoated and is relatively inexpensive about 25 bucks here in the states.
I have one and it seems to work at least as good as a much more expensive CP I have.
Here is a link but I do not know if they ship to Canada.

Gene, do you know if this is true for the FZ3 as well?

Yes it is true of all the FZ cameras and most other non dslr's that do not use mirrors for metering.
