does it make sense to buy the nikon D70 in these last few weeks before the D70s comes out?
my situation: i may be needed to do a series of assignments for someone beginning in may. i don't have a suitable camera, and want to get the D70s to do it, but the camera may not be available for 1 month forcing me to go with the D70. should I just wait for the D70s, or get the D70 and risk a massive depreciation (on the D70) once the newer D70s comes out?

It makes no sense to buy a D70 or D70s. Nikon's missed the boat. Canon's leapt ahead with the D350. Now we wait with baited breath for a D30 from Canon with even more megapixels.

and more frames/sec, and hopefully ISO adjustment in 1/3 stops, and more custom functions to control AF, and etc.
This will drop the price of the IDMKII and I will probably get one then.
However, if the 30D or whatever it is called will be that good, and not too expensive, then I can ride that boat out.
regarding the d70s, It isn't worth it. Get the D70 body only and put your money towards some glass.
