Does anyone have any experience with the Kyocera M410, the new 4MP ultra-zoom from Kyocera? Received a great review from Steves-Digicams.com, and the review on DCResource is due out shortly.

Hi John-
I've also been following the Kyocera M410R also and have been impressed with everything that I have read about it. Yes, I realize it is not a stabilized digital camera, but I also own an Olympus C-765 and a Kodak DX-6490. I have managed to do well with those unstabilized digicams, so the M410R should be no different.
The M410R has many desirable features and fits in well with the kind of digital camera shooting that I do everyday. Even though I ordered the digital camera today, with delivery scheduled for next Tuesday or Wednesday, I will still be very interested to read the upcoming review to be published by www.dpreview.com.
Interestingly enough, I have found that the M410R has quite a following in England. You do not find many postings concerning this camera, so data is fairly difficult to come by.

but I'm quite disappointed in the photos in my gallery (http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/kyocera/finecam_m410r-review/gallery.shtml). They all have a color cast to them (and no, I didn't botch the white balance) and seem dull and lifeless to me. It's a shame because the camera's performance is superb.

Jeff-
I hope that does not foretell what I have ahead of me.Yikes! I will let you know via this thread if I encounter the same problem.

Hi Jeff-
Did you ever solve the problem with the digital photos from the Kyocera M410R?

Nope, still disappointing color. White balance was set to auto in all cases, everything at defaults.

Jeff-
It sounds defective to me.

Jeff-
The Kyocera M410R arrived this afternoon. I've had time to put one digital photo through it and the colors look normal. Hooray! I was sweating marbles because we leave tomorrow on a 4 1/2 month contract.
I will send samples.

I see you have a C765 and I just wondered if you like it and would recommend it. My Sony Mavica CD1000 just died and I have been looking for a light replacement. Then this thread got me looking at the new one coming out, hmmmm. I hate buyers remorse!
Well, any little hint would be appreciated. I have this overwhelming urge to buy one now! But I'm holding myself in restraints!

There is no doubt about it. The Olympus C-765 is a very good digital camera. It however, does have a propreitary battery rather than AA size batteries. While it is the smallest of the ultra zooms, I personally feel that when directly compared to the Kyocera M410R, the Olympus C-765 comes off as second best.
To my way of thinking the M410R has much more performance (up to 3fps in continuous), sharper digital photos, a much, much better EVF with 300,000pixels and an LCD you can use in the brightest sunshine. The Olympus C-765 is a great digital camera with a long heritage. However, the Kyocera M410R is simply better.

Does the M410R offer stitch assist or panorama assist?
