You obviously like Minolta digital cameras. Why did you select two digital cameras with 3X optical zoom and a 12X optical zoom digital camera? Other than the fact that they are all the Minolta brand, they really don't have much in common.

The Xg model is a very small and very compact digital camera that has only gained average review scores and likewise produces very average digital photos as well.

The G-600 model is just a rehash of the older G-500 model. Again it got slightly better than average reviews and produces slightly above average digital photos. It is very small in size and can even be worn around your neck. It has durable metal casing. Price-wise, my suggestion would be to look at the G-500 model. It will save you some money and the digital photos the G-500 produces easily equal the digital photos from the G-600.

The Z-3 model is a physically larger digital camera with a 12X optical zoom lens. I have not seen any reviews on the Z-3 as yet, but it does have potential, if you are interested in a long zoom digital camera, due to the anti shake mechanism on the camera's CCD. I used a Z2 rather extensively earlier in the year, but returned it due to its inability to consistently focus sharply at its maximum zoom.

In my own opinion only, I would most certainly stay away from the Xg model. The G-500 is a good alternative to the G-600, but there are also better cameras out there in that class such as the Sony W-1, the HP R-707, and the Fuji E-510 and the E-550 that are worth taking a look at in a local store.

I don't know your experience level, so I don't know if the Z3 would be a good camera for you or not. Suffice for now to say that it is more complex than the other two digital cameras, and much larger.
