I want to do some close-up shots of flowers. Various close-up filters allow you to get/focus a certain distance from the subject. Being that the FZ-15/20 has such a huge optical zoom, I was wondering if I really need a +10 to get in close to the subject? Or can I get similar, if not better, results by using a +4 at a further distance (which means I would be less likely to block the natural light w/ my camera) and zooming in?

Also, will I be able to use the full zoom range with a close-up filter or, if not, how much (approx)?

BTW - Currently I can get in about 6-8" from my subject and zoom in about 2x in macro mode w/o a close-up filter.

But if you do not already have one I believe you will need an after market adapter.
