I have seen wide angle 0.8 x lenses for the FZ-20 at prices from about 80 to over 500 (US$). The main use is for indoor events where high resolution is not a
main consideration. Are there cheaper front element 0.7 to 0.8 x lenses
anyone has tried? I have the RAYNOX adapter that takes 52 mm filters.

I think you will find the Raynox dcr-720 will fit you requirements just fine and while it seems to state that it is a .7 lens the actual measurements indicate it is a .8 lens when used on a FZ camera.
and while it is inexpensive it seems to take good quality photos to me.
I just have not used it much indoors.

But since you state it will be used indoors this lens claims no light loss.
