I've been using an older version of Paintshop Pro for the last several years, but am now switching to PS 7 (which I've had but been too busy to learn). I have a newbie question about editing history. When undoing editing steps on PSP, it tells you what step you're about to undo, but that doesn't seem to be the case in PS, at least as I have it set up.
Sometimes I do several editing steps in a row, then decide to go back and modify something I did several steps earlier, but since the editing menu shows only the "step backwards" button, I'm not sure what kind of step I'm about to undo, and it's impossible to know when I've returned the proper number of steps to the one I want to modify. Anway to see that info?
Thanks much.

Thanks much.Norm, it's pretty well spelled out in the "History" window. If you go to Window -> History and check the "History" item, you'll see a window that has a History tab, an Actions tab, and a Presets tab. Select the History tab, and when you do a series of edits, you'll see them duly recorded in the History window. If you want to return to where you were "back in time," just click on the appropriate one, and there you'll be. Until you save your editing result, you'll also see the un-edited image as the very first item on the list, to which you can always return if you want to start over from scratch.

Hey, John, thanks so much. I knew I just wasn't looking in the right place!
Much obliged.
