Hello all! I've been lurking on this BB for a while trying to soak up what information that I can from the great minds here. The info has been very helpful! I've been fairly timid at posting my pics but I suppose the only way to learn is to do. So here are a few pics just before sunset at Clearwater Beach, Florida...with hopefully more with this gorgeous weather! Any constructive criticism is appreciated. Thanks for all the help :D

P.S. Images were taken with my Digital RebelXT, Tamron 75-300 f/4-5.6, and an itty bit of editing in PS.

That second birds one is particularly interesting as it nearly looks like a still painting. Very artistic choice there.

Thanks for all the comments yall! This is my first DSLR...SLR in general. I loved the fixed lens cameras, but they didn't provide for what I really wanted to do with my photos. Hopefully I'll be able to replicate the images that I have seen here!

You don't need to replicate the images here. You seem to be doing great on your own. Shoot stuff that catches your fancy, not ours.

Except lighthouses of course, we can always use more of those.

Thanks George! I suppose I should have said that I wanted to replicate the quality of the images vs the types of images themselves. But point well taken. As for light houses, don't think I'll find many of those in Orlando...hehe!

Hey BE!!! Thanks for the comliment! I must say that it's been a while since I've taken a pic of my tank. Trying to get a feel for this camera in an outside setting where things are not really "controlled". I guess I could ask the same for you...hehe. BTW, great pics lately on other posts! Those shots are amazing!

Thanks for the kind words as well. What we do here, is only limited by our imagination and sense of wonder. :)

Ha ha ha! I was a "lurker" for a long time. This site is my favorite site of all the sites in the world because basically you've got a bunch of really talented, creative people willing to share their knowledge...it's a special place.

You're already off to a great start for someone on their first SLR! I think that you have an excellent sense of composition...something that takes a lot of people a long time to learn. Looking forward to more of your great shots! :)

The quality doesn't seem to be a problem either...

Hey, you are in the middle, so either coast is just a short drive. I'm in the desert and I have a lighthouse pic (of course it's by my pool ;) )

Thanks again George, JTL, all for the kind comments and recommendations. I look forward to posting more pics and maybe giving insight once I learn what I'm doin' :p

If anybody is looking for beachs in florida to visted
and this like almost like early late 70's in fl keys over there.

So check out panama city florida area they have some
the nicest blue water beachs over there and alot people
don't there during fall months and winter months. But spring
months are hotest season and even summer. But I use to have
a 1980 30ft luger ketch sailboat over there in panhandle
and I sold boat during last year in 2005 to guy in OK
and it's one largest lakes in OK today. But i'm getting trawler boat later
on down road...

So check out my Beach pics web page and these
are some pics i put on there. But these are east of panama city.

I hope you Enjoy This web page i made last spring in 05'..

Very nicely done! I love the second one. Lighting must have been a nightmare and you did a fantastic job of capturing the color in low light!
