Hi All,

I am buying the Canon A95 for a week long trip. Me and my husband are quite excited about our first ever digital camera and plan on taking quite a lot of pictures. Cannot really estimate how much though....So...

How big size a Flashcard should we buy for the canon A95 if :

1. We plan on shooting 150 pictures

2.We plan on shooting 200 pictures

3.We get very excited and shoot 300 pictures!

Thanks lolt for you advise in advance!

I have 2 x 512 CF Cards & use "Superfine" & "L" for the biggest, most detailed shots I can get. This size card gets me about 196 - 199 shots per card. Whatever you choose, it's worth having at least a couple of cards incase one gets damaged / corrupted etc. Also don't forget an extra set of rechargable batteries!
Great choice on your camera though, as the adverts over here say...I'm lovin' it!
Goood luck & happy holidays! :D

Thanks for your input!

I could finalize my choice of camera only due to the members of these forums! After hearing all the gaa gaa about the A95 I feel confident buying it now!

Thanks again,

You'll enjoy the A95 and don't waste your money buying the higher end CF cards for your camera. I get mine from newegg.com: SanDisk 512MB Compact Flash (CF) Card for $36.07 + $4.81 Shipping (http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820171072)

Learn to use your A95 using the center point auto focus and not letting the camera pick the focus point for you, you'll get better results in the end.

For shooting 150 to 200 pictures, get at least a 512MB card.
For shooting 300 pictures, get at least a 1GB card.

You can always turn on the compression if you really run out of space.

i have two 512mb cards for mine, as i prefer not to put all my "eggs in one basket" as they say. the estimates given so far match with what i've seen. i get about a week's worth of snaps at high image quality and size on one card.

if the inconceivable happens, and the bag or the camera is lost or stolen or damaged, i have one card off safe, so at least half my pics are safe. plus, it was cheaper at best buy to get two 512mb cards than it was to buy a single 1gb card.

i second the extra rechargeables comment, as well! i have two sets of 2500mAh batteries and they are invaluable. i've never run out of power, given that i've always had access to a power outlet at night for charging.

I have two cards too and for the same reason. I have 2 1-GB cards though. It's a bit over kill, but I hate ever having to delete anything before I get the chance to offload everything to my PC.

Another vote for not putting all my eggs in one basket - for my A95 I use two 256MB and one 512MB card. This arrangement works well for me.
