Unusual rainbow

I took this picture with Canon Rebel EOS 6.3 mega pixels. This rainbow looked more as Aurora Borealis. I hope maybe somebody could explain to me, please, how this rainbow came about.

The photo looks a bit foggy ... and yes that rainbow looks different.
