I have been looking to buy a digital camera for a while now. I currently have a Minolta SLR, which I love but processing cost are starting to got through the roof!

I have been looking at the Pentax Optio S40 and S4I and also the Sony DSC-V1. I ideally would like a camera somewhere inbetween these, using SD Memory cards.

Can anyone offer me advice?

The Pentax S-40 is very, very slow and has not enjoyed very good reviews. The Pentax S4/S4i does quite well in bright sushine, but goes downhill fast from there.

The Nikon 3700 currently has a $US 100 rebate being offered and it uses the SD chip. The Kodak DX-7440 has had very good reviews. The HP R series is attractive and the HP-R707 has received excellent reviews. The Casio QRV-51 is a very small digital camera and had received good reviews. All of these digital cameras use the SD chip.

Thanks for your reply.

I have come across the Casio Exilim Pro EX-P600. Any thoughts?

Please take a look at the camera review for the Casio P600 done right on this website by Jeff Keller. Also keep in mind that Casio is about to come out with the P700 model soon which will replace the P600.
