Ulead Software and DVD VCD Burning

WHen I bought my first digital camera, I bought Ulead's DVD Pictureshow software, which I thought was fantastic at the time. Last month I bought a new digital camera and out of curiosity started browsing the slide show software and noticed that Ulead is now on version 3 of that software. It sounds great, but I see nothing but bad reviews of the software. Has anyone here used that software or any other slideshow to DVD/VCD software?

I browsed a few other ones, and they all seem to get bad reviews on average. I am curious about the Proshow gold software. It seems to have a lot of features and doesn't get terrible reviews.

Any suggestions or other aspects that I should consider. I also wonder about the more video based software that seems to also create slideshows.

I have a copy of Xatshow which I was happy with; but as with everything I never seem to get enough time to go into it as much as I want.

It can create multiple shows, save to DVD, use transitions, put music on the shows, add text and use video footage.
