Taken a few years ago before I could afford a dSLR :-(

Taken a few years ago before I could afford a dSLR :-(Given a little of the old Paint Shop/Photo Shop treatment, this could be an even nicer image. I would: increase contrast a little, add some sharpening and a little color saturation...

Here is a quick shot of Venice's Grand Canal with clouds added. It was originally taken with a Panasonic FZ - 1 I believe.

Thanks for the photoshop tips. Believe it or not it never occurred to me to "fix" the sky. It was rainy and dreary my entire trip there so I couldn't even imagine it sunny :-)

I love being able to see the difference between the "real" photo and what it's possible to do in post-editing. Thanks!

The sky part can be touched up a little. Maybe add more blue.
