Fugi FinePix S7000 Formatting XD Card prob

I purchased a new 512 XD card for my camera. It says card error when I put the card into my camera. I tried to format /reformat it but the camera will not do anything to the card. Is there a website or some place I can go to to format this card? I can't get the card to work. What should I do? It's a brand new card.

Also, sometimes my camera seems to have a problem focusing and the pictures come out blurry. Sometimes by turning the camera off and on it will come back into focus. Sometimes it won't. Any suggestions (for when it won't).

Had exactly the same problem. The manual instructions, just did not work.

I live in UK so went to www.fugifilm.co.uk. Clicked on Tecnical Support and put in my word 'formatting'. Brilliant, came up with step by step instruction and it was done.

I find the Fuji site extremely useful and they are very kind in responding to my moronic email questions.

They have most of the answers regarding the S7000, listed on their site.

Manual says, must have camera setting on 'wide angle' before using wide angle lens. Makes sense, obviously, but does not tell you how to put it on wide angle --off to the site again.

Yup I've encounter Fuji support before - much better than Canon's.

I find when my batteries are a bit on the low side i cannot format my cards in my fugi S7000. Putting fresh batteries in solves it every time though. Hope that helps.
