Need help on picture

Hello...

I'm new to digital imaging. I need help on my daughter's picture. it's a 1024x768 517 KB.

Here's a scaled-down picture...

I would really appreciate if someone would edit the original picture to look more stunning and frame worthy. I would like to keep the original 1024x768

Here is one edit. A blured background is about all I can see to do.

It's too late now, but maybe some fill flash would have filled in the shadows on her face a bit? And also possibly a tighter face only shot? It's a nice shot though, cute kid. :)

Magnetic lasso and gaussian blur with photoshop.
