On Friday after job, I took these pics. I was disappointed because the weather turned overcast. However, I tried to take good photos. Since I am not an expert at taking photos in overcast weather so suggestions are warmly welcomed. I used C-765.

The location of sub was not in good place either. Seems that if you are on boat/ship then you could take very good photos.

It is the only Finnish submarine left and the only remaining example of German Type IIa boat.

Very nice photos. They remind me of my photos (taken with my Olympus XA3 film camera) of the oldest surviving submarine in the world - the Lembit submarine. I took those photos in Tallinn in 2001, two weeks before the local hoodlums set the submarine on fire, destroying it totally.

The Lembit submarine? Wow. Could you post them here somehow? I wanna see! :)

There you are. Unfortunately that camera wasn't too sharp by the time I took that photo. Maybe dropping it in Madrid airport didn't help too much :P

I enjoyed the pictures just knowing what they are! The last one especially stands out!

The only problem I faced was with overcast weather. In this case what settings I shall be using next time? Looks like that I should play with white balance settings.

Today seems to be a sunny day after 5 months. Yay!!

Wow. I read about that submarine. Its the 1936 Lembit, an Estonian mine-laying submarine.

Wow. I read about that submarine. Its the 1936 Lembit, an Estonian mine-laying submarine.

It was quite interesting inside. All oak panelling with brass knobs and dials. Basically, it was a tube with no watertight bulkheads anywhere. The hull was quite thin and it was really designed to be hidden from view rather than to dive really deeply. The hull was thin enough for a single .303 bullet to pierce it and render the submarine unservicable.

Interestingly, the rubber escape tube that pulls down uner the hatch is the same as was employed in an Oscar class Soviet submarine that I had the chance to sail on, some years ago.
