Which camera should I buy? :confused: I am shoping for myself and a friend (myself=A, friend=B)

Budget
* What budget have you allocated for buying this camera?
A: under 300
B: under 300

Size
* What size camera are you looking for? Or does size not matter at all to you?
A: Would love a smaller camera but would sacrafice for features!
B: A family camera so on the smaller size might be better, but durability is more important.

Features
How many megapixels will suffice for you?
A: anything over 3.0
B: anything over 2.0

* What optical zoom will you need? (None, Standard = 3x-4x, Ultrazoom = 10x-12x)
A: I want the best zoom! 10x-12x
B: Over 3x would be fine over 5x would be ideal

* How important is “image quality” to you? (Rate using a scale of 1-10)
A: Image quality very important: 9
B: I just want a crisp clean picture 7

Do you care for manual controls?
A: Manual controls a plus
B: not neccesary

General Usage

* What will you generally use the camera for?
A: Everthing from basic portrait shots to landscape to macro I love taking pictures
B: Travel, and people shots mostly

* Will you be making big prints of your photos or not?
A: nothing bigger then 8x 10
B: not very often 8x10 would be extremely rare

Will you be shooting a lot of indoor photos or low light photos?
A:yes
B: yes

Will you be shooting sports and/or action photos?
A: yes
B: some

Miscellaneous

Are there particular brands you like or hate?
A:name brand cameras
B:name brand cameras, i like canon

Are there particular models you already have in mind?
A: Minolta Z series especailly Z3
B: New to digital loved my Canon Rebel 2000 28mm-80mm

(If applicable) Do you need any of the following special features? (Wide Angle, Image Stabilization, Weatherproof, Hotshoe, Rotating LCD)
A:I would like to expand in the future so maybe ability of hot shoe and lens attachments, imagae stabilization would be nice.
