im thinking of getting a dx4530 for the 5mp and the price, any feedback on why its so affordable? also, can anyone compare quicktime video vs mp4, or at least lead me to the answer? thanks!

I have the dx4530, and it's a very basic point + shoot, with a few preset modes. Focus is a little slow for me, especially since I'm used to a dSLR, but the pictures come out beautiful. Shot to shot isn't too quicky either - but again, it's because I'm used to something surperiour. Viewfinder is also tiny, and I have a difficult time putting my eye to it, for whatever reason. LCD is very clear, and you can more or less see it outside alright.

Despite the framerate, the quicktime movie mode is nice! Sound is fine too - I'm happy with it for what it does.

Care for a few small sized samples? These were briefly run through photoshop and originally taken in auto mode.

Just based on looking at the specs, part of the reason the DX4530 is less expensive is 1) is has Kodak's older processing chip instead of the "KODAK Color Science Chip" and 2) it has the Retinar lens instead of the SCHNEIDER-KREUZNACH VARIOGON lens.
