Hi folks. :)
My wife and I are expecting and I want to capture everything on film.
I am also an aspiring amateur film maker with no real experience, but lots of know how.
I've heard I should go Canon or Panasonic rather than Sony, so that's what I'm sticking with.
Here's what I need:
- to be able to shoot at night
- good quality lens
- mic plug in
- video in, so I can record from VCR and dump on my computer from firewire using the camera as a rca to firewire/USB convertor.
- durablility is always a good thing
- great battery life is ideal and to be able to shoot while she's plugged in would be great too.
I'd really appreciate all of your insight on this. My budget is around $400-$500 (US) or $500-$600 (Canadian (preferably)).
Please feel free to ask me any questions, I'm certain I didn't cover everything.
Thanks,
Dave
