Fugi Fine Pix S5100 or Olympus C-765 UZ?

I'm looking to buy my first digital camera. I've read good things about both of these cameras and can get either at approximately the same price. I lean towards the S5100 because it uses AA batteries. I'm not impressed with lithium ion batteries. However, I don't want to sacrifice image quality or camera flexibility due to this one issue.

Your feedback regarding your experience with both of these cameras is most appreciative.

I have a new S5100. It seems it suffers from the following three problems and I can send some sample pictures to you if you want.

1. Grainy pictures
2. Purple fringing
3. Vignetting

I don't know anything about the Olympus.
