Down to 2 choices-PLEASE HELP!!

My 2 choices are Sonys p200 and Nikons coolpix 7900. I have been looking for months and have came down to these two. I just want a really good point and shoot camera, I do not care about manual controls, just a camera that is easy to use and takes great pictures. I mostly take pictures of my children. So is one better at taking people pictures or better for indoor shots?
Anyones input on these two cameras is greatly appreciated.

Just out of curiosity, were there any specific reasons for eliminating the Canon SD500 from your list? Thanks!

I need a camera that will imprint the date on the picture. I like having the camera imprint the date and not have to do it through software. So that left out the Canon. Thats the only reason.
