Hey guys i really want to get a nikon d70 so im looking at all my options. Is there anything wrong with purchasing it off a website in japan???

Not if you live in Japan. Otherwise that's where you will have to send it if it needs repair. Check to see if the Japan website offers a US warranty, although I seriously doubt it.

Just out of curiousity what is the compelling reason for buying from a Japanese web-site?
