Yes, the printer does a great job printing documents, fast and it even does duplex printing.

the IP4000 has even one extra large black ink tank precisely it is expected to be used for such printing
the IP6000 is on the other hand more geared towards being mainly photo printer though you can print out B&W text on it too on normal paper - but its a waste really to do that

I find it best using 90gsm paper for text documents on my ip4000 it seems to make it even crisper than the 80gsm stuff :)

One quick answer - if you arre thinking of buying it - buy it!!
It's great - not expensive and does a great job with photos on any paper and is really good with text - even in draft mode. It just seems to print everything off perfectly - my kids do homework and print off graphics and photos and text all together and it comes out superb on normal 80 gm paper.

Alright here is the catch. I recently ran out of ink on the big black 3bk deal. So i went out bought a new one and when i installed it following the directions... it will not work. Basically when i run the deep cleaning and nozzle check it acts like it is either out of ink or clogged. I have tried to put a moist cloth over the nozzle to rehydrate it, and used a cotton swab to clean the injector nozzle on the actual printer still no go. any recomendations?
thanks

That's odd! Never had anything like that I would only have thought that would happen if you ran out and left it a while - I can only suggest a call to Canon and ask tem about it...
