Flash on Fuji FP A330 & Olympus C370

I have been searching for some Digital cameras & came across a Fuji FinePix A330 and an Olympus C370, one of which I would like to buy. One thing I am wondering though is about the flash. At the moment my cam (Fuji), if you turn off the camera, and have the flash off it remembers this setting. Do these cameras remember the setting?

I'm not sure about those two specifically, but most every camera I've used remembers the last settings I was using before I turned it off, and restores them when I turn it on again...

So have mine, but my friend told me (who used to own an Olympus) that you have to update the settings every time.

What do people recommend out of those 2 cameras, which have almost identical specs?
