Ok currently I have a Fujifilm 2650 (FinePix) and it's a 2 Megapixel with a 3x optical.

Well, this camera is broken and out of warranty. So instead of repairing it, since it is mighty outdated, I'm gonna buy another one.

This is where the thread comes in.

I want video capabilities, 8x-10x optical zoom (digital doesn't really matter), the small LCD display screen is always nice.

3-4 megapixels and under $200.

Anyone got any suggestions? I found a few that I was looking at but not sure if they would be good models.

Any comments or suggestions?

I'm sorry to sway from the topic, but all of the links showed refurbished cameras. Be careful because if you go cheap, you will regret it. Also, keep on a lookout for prices that seem 'too good to be true', because these guys will sell you a camera with parts missing even though it says 'new inbox', then will try to sell you the parts for a high markup.

Just giving you a heads up. Unfortunately you get what you pay for.

Excellent advice above.

The only 8-10x zoom cam I know of that can be found new in your price range is the Minolta Z10, which can be mail-ordered for just under $200. This camera actually has quite a lot of features for the price, and would be worth your time to investigate....

I'd suggest saving for a while longer and getting a better camera. The Canon S1 IS is quite good. The Panasonic Fz20 is good. Check though the reviews and info section on this site.

Well see I kinda want a digital camera now. I have no job at the moment so I can't really save much longer because well, I have nothing to save. And my other camera is literally broken (the lense fell out and everything, the springs that held it in snapped) and so I have no digital camera now.

I was checking out the minolta and was wondering about the size. Anyone seen one of these? They look kinda cumbersome and like it'd be hard to carry around.

And I"ll check into the refurbished stuff, I didn't notice that initially. And I'll have a look at the reviews on this site while I"m at it too.

Thanks for the replies.
