I have a few questions about my new G6, and would like some feedback. Are these issues normal? Are any of them a reason for a return?

1. The camera is pretty noisy as it writes to the memory card (I hear writing sounds even as I focus it on different spots). Is that normal? this is my first digital camera, so I have no idea.

2. The LED lights on the battery charger, which are supposed to show the progress of the battery charge, don't work. It blinks as it charges, and goes solid when it's done, but the 0%,50%,75%,100% lights don't seem to work.

3. The lens of the camera had some spots when I got it. Since I don't completely trust the site where I bought the camera (buydig), part of me wonders whether I was sold a refurbed camera.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Does anyone have thoughts on this? Is it normal to hear the camera writing to the card (As I point it, I hear a "Gug-Gug" sound)? I also notice some flickering on the LCD, but again, have no idea whether this is par for the course for a digital camera.

Should I bring it in to a shop to have someone look at it? Send it back? I feel like I should make a decision quickly, and would appreciate some feedback. I realize, though, that without seeing the camera, it is difficult for others to give advice.

Thanks in advance for your help.

No that doesn't sound right at all I'd think. You shouldn't hear any noticeable noise and especially not a flickering LCD.

thanks, Blue Dog. I'll return it tomorrow. The spots on the lens are not a good sign. Writing to the card should be silent. Return the camera ASAP...
