I'm looking for a high quality, compact point-and-shoot camera and these two models have found their way to the top of my list. I love how the SD 500 looks and feels but I've heard some major problems with purple fringing and redeye. The Nikon has better redeye reduction but haven't heard anything about how it's image quality stacks when compared to the SD500.
What I'll be basically using this camera for is traveling around the world (NYC, South Korea, Phillippines, Japan, UK, Italy, Australia) after I graduate from college and need a small, quality camera to take pictures of the places I visit. No serious need for manual settings but being able to take quality low light pictures is a must. Which do you think is better?
