View Full Version : Sd400? Sd500?
I currently have the SD400. I find it a really good camera with good image quality but I have seen some of the pictures with the SD500 and it looks slightly better because of the 2 extra mp.
If anyone has the SD500 could you post some pictures taken with it and is camera shake bad? I am not sure if I should exchange my SD400 for the SD500 so I would really appriciate if someone would help me decide.

At first I was hitting myself because I could not believe I had just bought a $500 camera while in college...but the pictures are simply astounding!

Also, I love the fact that it's 7.1 megapixels because some shots just look better cropped. This you can crop some pretty small stuff! This isn't necessarily a photogenic picture...but I think it's pretty neat. Nemo ripping away at ham...cropped WAY DOWN to show more detail.

It's just an all around well built camera...no complaints so far.

...and I've only had the camera for 5 days!

Those arent the ONLY reasons. The SD500 also has a larger sensor so less noise, especially in dark shots, and has a noticably stronger flash, something to note if you take a lot of indoor shots like I do. On the other hand, its also a larger camera and there are postings of a whine in the audio of some peoples video clips. Thats why I am still debating between the 2.
