Hey,

I'm going to be buying a new camera soon, and I'm just looking for some info on what's going to give me the best picture for the money... I currently have a Samsung Digimax 360, which has worked OK, but I'm not happy with the image noise and the time between shots.

The reviews that I've read about the P150 seem pretty good, and the "sample pictures" that I've seen on various websites look great. The reviews also mentioned the 1-2 seconds between shots, which would be a huge improvement.

However, I haven't been able to find any reviews on the P200. Is it essentially the same camera? Is there anything that's better or worse? Is the image quality the same on both of the cameras?

If there are any other suggestions for good cameras that would be great. I've been looking very closely at the Sony cameras, because they are relatively inexpensive and seem to give an excellent picture. Keep in mind with your suggestions that I'm looking for a point and shoot camera, and I'm not an expert! :)

Thanks!

I would go for the P150, it is cheaper and has a better body style imho. The camera takes exactly the same pics as the P200.

Are you limiting yourself to compacts? Because the panosonic fz20 is an excellent camera and most people here would highly recommend it.

That camera looks nice, but it only has 5MP and it's a bit out of my price range. On that note... Will I notice much of a difference between 5MP and 7MP? I usually print 4x6 pictures, but I'd like to have to option of printing something larger if I want to.

I agree with you about the look of the 150 -- it looks better to me too. Aside from the larger LCD on the 200 are there any other benefits?

Thanks again..

5, 7, there is virtually no difference at that small print size, even A4. If anything the fz20 will allow you to take better pictures because the increased zoom range will allow you to compose the pictures better. Also, the IS will allow less blurry shots in low light.

To my knowledge there are no other changes other than that and other horrible aesthetic choices.

Custom white balance, pretty big benefit.
