Does anyone have this camera? Care to share your opinions? I'm very interested in this camera because 1) it's a Sony, and 2) it's very small, therefore I would actually use it.
I already have an Olympus 3030, so I'm looking for a "take with me" kind of camera. I've noticed that I'm just not using the Olympus all that much and I think it's because it's kind of bulky to haul around (like at the amusement park or the beach).

I've had one for about a week. I absolutely love it. It's nice to finally have a decent camera that I can literally take with me anywhere. It's not as full featured as some cameras in it's price range, but it's nice small size more than makes up for it and build quality is top notch. I also love the fact that you get a zoom lens (really helps me frame pictures better) without any protruding lens . It feels so solid. One accessory I would recommend is the BC-TR1 charger. Again it's a little pricey (I paid $50 from thenerds.net ) but it makes battery charging a lot easier.
I wish I could give you a more professional review, but I am far from professional, I just love to take pictures, now with the t1 I always have a camera with me so I never miss a shot.
Here's a quick sample of a macro I shot this morning. This was done one handed while holding the leashes of my two dogs in the other hand. everything set auto with just the macro mode on (I didn't even switch from the multipoint auto focus). I have resized the pic to 1024x768 and compressed it 20% in Corel photopaint. aside from that, it is untouched. (click to view full size)

I've been using a DSC-V1 for a little better than half a year, but found it a little bulky to carry every where. I figured the T1 would be a great companion. Although the V1 is more feature packed and does shoot higher quality pics, I am pleased enough with the T1 that I decided to sell my V1 and order an F828 to use for those extra special outings. I think with the T1 and the 828 I will have all I need for a good long time.

Hey bigConig,
Love that shot !
I was just a little uncertain about whether to buy the Casio Z40 or the Sony T1 ... you have tipped the scales to the T1.
I'm amazed at how many reviews of it's pic quality are so polarised.

I wish I could give you some more technical info, but like I said, I really just enjoy shooting. For what it is, the T1 lets me do this with very nice results. I know a lot of people were disappointed with the flash. I haven't done much indoor shooting with it so I can't really comment on this, but it is very well built and nice and small. If you're at all familiar with Sony cybershots the controls will make you feel right at home too.
here's one more macro shot and processed the same as above.

Sorry all I have is a couple macro shots, I haven't had a chance to get out specificly to shoot since I bought the T1. I'll have to make a point to try and get some interesting stuff next time I'm out.

I've had a T1 for about a month now and I've been very happy with the results. It's true the camera is not the most robust indoor performer, but I have a digital SLR I use for indoor group family photos, so this is not an issue for me. That said, I've taken some indoor flash shots with the T1 of single subjects, where I am relatively close to the person or object, and the pics are just fine. The beauty of the camera is that because it is so small, you do end up taking it anywhere. Sure, I can get better photos with my SLR, but the T1's are consistently excellent enough that I don't feel I have to lug the SLR around all the time, which is nice. I'd heartily recommend it.
